Science Cambridge

  1. The subjects offered at Mutiara Persada Primary School are as follows:

 

  1. In addition to the subjects above, both National and Cambridge classes have one special learning component from the Kurikulum Merdeka, which is P5. P5 stands for Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila. It aims to enhance students' character, particularly in applying Pancasila values in daily life. Students will complete themes within P5 that include specific dimensions to be achieved. P5 will have its own reporting and a showcase where students will exhibit their works from P5 at the end of the year.

 

  1. Mutiara Persada also instills the value of RESPECT in its students. RESPECT encompasses seven values, which are:
    1. Responsibility
    2. Enjoyment
    3. Self-Confident
    4. Proficiency
    5. Entrepreneurship
    6. Consideration
    7. Tolerance
  1. In Cambridge classes, there are five subjects taken from the Cambridge curriculum: Science Cambridge, English Cambridge, Mathematics Cambridge, Global Perspectives, and Computing. All materials, syllabi, assessments, and evaluations are sourced from Cambridge.

 

  1. Each unit in the subjects will be graded through Worksheets and Evaluations. Every three months in each semester, there will be Mid-Semester Summative Assessments (STS 1 and 2), and at the end of the first semester, there will be a Final Summative Assessment (SAS), along with an Annual Summative Assessment (SAT) at the end of the year.

 

  1. For Cambridge classes, in addition to Worksheets, Evaluations, STS 1 & 2, SAS, and SAT, there will be a Progression Test for grades 3, 4, 5, and 6, with questions sourced from Cambridge. The range, assessment, and reporting will also follow Cambridge standards. The Progression Test aims to evaluate student development over the year and prepare for the Checkpoint Test.

 

  1. In National classes, there is ASPD as the final examination mandated by the government. In Cambridge classes, besides ASPD, students will face the Checkpoint Test as the final exam from Cambridge. Starting in 2024, Cambridge students can choose whether or not to take the ASPD.

 

  1. The daily language used in National classes is Indonesian, while in Cambridge classes, it is English.

 

  1. In National classes, only English is taught in English, whereas in Cambridge classes, subjects like Science Cambridge, English Cambridge, Mathematics Cambridge, Global Perspectives, Computing, and Mandarin are taught in English.

 

  1. Besides curricular activities, students are given opportunities to develop their interests and talents through extracurricular activities, both in sports and academics. Kinds of extracurricular can change in every academic year, it depends on the interests and amount of the participants.
    1. There are three mandatory extracurricular activities:
  • Scouts for grades 3, 4, 5, and 6
  • Marching Band for grades 3, 4, and 5 through selection
  • Angklung for grades 1 and 2 through selection
    1. There are two clubs for Olympiad preparation: Science and Mathematics for grades 2, 3, 4, and 5, formed through selection.
    2. There are elective extracurricular activities that students can participate for one year. After a year, students will choose different elective activities in the next grade:
  • Grades 1, 2, and 3 = Futsal, Swimming, Visual Arts, Taekwondo, Coding, Basketball, Badminton, Dance, Robotics, Choir
  • Grades 4, 5, and 6 = Futsal, Swimming, Visual Arts, Taekwondo, Coding, Basketball, Badminton, Dance, Robotics, Choir, and Movie Making & Editing.
